Erin Harmon, Prevention Supervisor
Erin Harmon joined The Shelter Inc. staff in 2014 as the high school truancy case manager, becoming the prevention programs supervisor in 2018. In this role she oversees the high school truancy and specialized case management programs. She has worked to help children and families overcome barriers and successfully strengthen and achieve their goals for the last 20 years.
Erin is born and raised in Lawrence, graduating as a Lawrence High School Chesty Lion. She attended the University of Kansas where she graduated with a degree in Psychology, Sociology and Women’s Studies.
Outside of work, Erin has spent many years giving back to others in her charity work. She is a former member of both the Cosmopolitan Diabetes Service organization and the Lawrence St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee. Her current fundraising focus is as a co-chair with the annual Summer’s End Cruise-In and BBQ Competition, raising money for the O’Connell Children’s Shelter prevention programs and Lawrence Police Blue Santa program. In 2022, Erin was given her greatest blessing in becoming a first-time mommy to an amazing little boy.
